Most internet users would find it hard to conceive of a landscape without the likes of FB, YouTube, Twitter and Google. The Chinese government’s Golden Shield Project has, however, banned their use among China’s 500 million connected netizens, spawning a brood of native derivations. Little wonder the ecosystem visualized below is so unique.
